Shit kill me now it seems I've started using dodgy Slaughterhouse V quotes as post titles. The end is nigh. Nigh, I tell you.
But really, everything went much better than expected. :'D. I got out of the A-Z Challenge with most of my dignity intact, and the first half week of study leave (for lack of a better word, basically it's just a two-week period before the finals start in which we're not expected to be at school) hasn't managed to kill me yet.
I feel kind of unlucky though. Because I'm doing the International Baccalaureate program (which'll get me an official diploma stating I'm a near-native English speaker (profit ensues), so I guess I can suffer the fact that) I have to do two additional exams, both of which have been planned DURING my two week's leave. >,>. Joy.
The first one was today. I had to write a comparative commentary (basically compare and contrast two different texts on things such as tone, theme, stylistic devices, purpose, etc). I'd been dreading this exam, because whenever I tried to practice for it I ended up drawing a blank and staring at an empty page for about an hour and a half before giving up.
I guess, though, that Lady Luck's been keeping an eye out for me, because I came away from that test with a HUGE cramp in my hand - but also with the feeling I'd pretty much aced it. Go me! :'D.
So now I'm over at Fang's place and we've been totally fucking up our time (Well not really it's pretty awesome just I don't think school would've given us two weeks off if they knew all we'd do with the time was watch anime x'D). It's really fun and awesome and we should totally do it again, nudge nudge. :').
Bahabhbhbhahabhhahbv. Ah. Yeah. For those of you that have been here since the beginning (basically: Mark); I finally beat LoZ: Ocarina of Time yesterday. It was glorious. And now I'm trying to devise a way to get my paws on Majora's Mask.
Just a few more weeks and I'll have oodles of time. :'D.

Back from London
And normal life's a bitch. Got back yesterday evening and already I'm expected to do stuff around the house. Woe is me!
On the other hand, I had a great time in London. We went to a lot of museums (the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, the British Museum and the National Gallery, although we didn't spend a lot of time in the last two). It's really awesome that they are all free, especially considering the amount of money I spent on other things *shamefaced*. In fact, we bought so much that the single bag we'd brought as cabin luggage couldn't hold all of the stuff we had to take back home. That caused the only real fight we've had, which is a miracle in itself; my sister and I don't always get along very well. We did have a few disagreements throughout our stay, but on the whole it was a very enjoyable trip!

It's a stuffed, 1,000,000x enlarged neuron. I call him Gregor. He's just so cute!
We also went on an evening walk through Westminster (Well, I think. We started out in Westminster, anyhow), along Westminster Bridge and then we traversed the Millennium Bridge, which was really awesome but had my sister complaining that her feet hurt. Most of the time, I was the one complaining; I didn't feel very well and I kept having headaches and being extremely hot or cold, it was annoying. For both of us. But we made it through (mostly) unscathed.

Also, on a completely different note, I accessed my mail yesterday night for the first time in four days and had 45 emails. I was like "What?!", but then I saw that somehow, 20 people had felt the need to post congratulations on my Facebook wall. >,<. I felt very appreciated, though, also by the various people who braved the 13-cents overseas cost of a text to wish me a happy birthday. Thanks to all you guys. And Paul, I laughed really fucking hard from your awesome text. So tell me, what dictionary did you swallow? x'DD.
So yeah. Why is it that, as you get older, birthdays just lose all the magic? It's just so sad. :/. Or am I the only one that doesn't feel special on their birthday anymore? I must be getting old...

On the very first day. I was all over the place from Awesome.

ZELDA UPDATE (x'DD): I continued to the Castle (turns out it's really called Ganon's Castle, so I wasn't far off :'D), and was amazed at how ridiculously easy the final dungeon was. However, I got to the face-off with the Great King of Evil Ganondorf (what a title :'D) and ran out of magic power (and therefore Light Arrows) before I'd finished him off. Turns out sending his energy blasts back at him stuns him, but doesn't actually do any damage. I was stuck in a perpetual cycle. That is, until my sister (the very same) started rage-vacuuming because we hadn't done it yet (nobody had asked) AND SWEPT THE NINTENDO64 OFF OF THE TABLE. It crashed into the floor and my gameplay suffered a horrible, sudden death. Actually, I haven't tried it again after, so I can only hope she hasn't somehow fatally wounded the poor thing... To Be Continued. Dun Dun Dunnnn.
(Also, Ganondorf was dramatically playing an organ when Link entered the room. AWESOME.)

Going to London, baby
TOMORROW BITCHES. In fact, our flight is at 8:30 AM tomorrow, and we need to check in at least 70 minutes before. That, coupled with the time it takes to reach the airport and the morning-rush traffic jams, means we have to leave home at 5:45 AM. That means I have to get up before 5 in the morning. THE HORROR!
I'm actually getting kind of nervous about this trip, because it's just me and my sister going and I can only hope we'll be able to survive. No, I'm not really worried about that at all, but it's just really weird to think I'll be in London tomorrow. I haven't even packed yet! Can't really decide what to take with me, I have too many clothes and too few at the same time... Oh well, guess I'll just cross that bridge when I reach it.
I'm definitely taking my Game Boy Color and the book I'm currently reading: The Name of the Star (Shades of London #1) by Maureen Johnson. I started reading it yesterday, am about halfway through and I think it is really awesome. It's just kind of... scary? It's about the 1888 Jack the Ripper murders being reenacted in modern-day London (with fresh victims) BY A GHOST. It's kind of strange, but I love it. It also made me afraid to close my eyes and go to sleep, but that's not important. Anyway, I'll be bringing that on the off-chance I'll find time to get some reading done.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'll be able to post anything in the coming four days. Not, y'know, that I've been posting at all regularly lately, but just a heads-up. I might do a scheduled "Happy Birthday to Me" post but I'm not sure yet, because I'd have to write that now. You'll just have to wait and see.
But I don't honestly have much else to s-
OH MY GOD. I almost forgot. A good friend of mine was over for the day and she brought her Wii. Now, I don't own a Wii and have never much regretted that because I think the Wii sucks as a serious gaming console and mostly just has merit for playing things like Mario Kart at parties and with lots of friends. BUT. There is one reason I have always secretly wanted a Wii: The Legend of Zelda. Now, I doubt any of you are surprised by this, but still. Anyway, she brought her Wii- and Twilight Princess. I've been dying to play that game since the moment it was announced. I got to play it today for a full three hours (and then some) and I loved it. And now I'm once again brokenhearted because I don't own a Wii, even though I stand by my opinion about it as a gaming engine and I just so wish there was just a fucking BUTTON for swinging your sword. And then. SKYWARD SWORD.
TL;DR: I might just end up buying a Wii at some point in the future.
(Also I beat the Spirit Temple on OoT and Sheik revealed his (her) real identity and Princess Zelda was kidnapped by Ganondorf. So now it's off to Ganon's Castle to rescue the Princess and save Hyrule!!)
Now, I wish you all a very good night, I'll be off packing my bags.

I'm pretty satisfied
I've finally gotten both of my written tasks done, although the second one hasn't been checked by my teacher yet. I'm feeling pretty confident about it, however. My spirits have been lifted. It might also have to do with the fact that I just stopped playing Ocarina of Time and am now watching my sister play Wave Race on the Nintendo 64, with my mom making sarcastic remarks (about the AWESOME graphics ('It's like you're on a REAL jetski!'), amongst other things) in a deadpan tone, al the while my sister is apparently still in the habit of leaning to whichever side she's trying to have her character turn. x'DDD. HILARITY ENSUES.

Also, look at the parentheses inside the parentheses. Oh sentence, Y U so awesome?
It's gonna be a really really short post today, sorry about that. Suffice to say I am happy to have my most pressing homework done, and am kicking back and relaxing when really I should be doing my regular homework as well. x'DD.
Also, I haven't mentioned this yet, but I'm going to London for four days next week. I am so excited it's unbelievable. Never been to London in my life. I have, however, been to Newcastle Upon Tyne and York, for school trips. On the trip to York we also visited Scarborough and Whitby. It was awesomesauce.
But back to London! We (me and my sister) will be leaving Monday morning, and returning Thursday night. Also, I turn eighteen on Wednesday. It's gonna be memorable. :). I'm not one to plan trips in advance, but my sister is. She's been to London before, and for the last few weeks she's been trying to goad me into deciding what museums I want to visit, whether we will go to a certain shopping mall (I don't know yet!) and trying to tell me all about the map of the Underground, while excitedly telling me about the traffic and weather situations in London, which she has opted to keep receiving after she got back from London around CHRISTMAS 2010. I'll never understand that, I bet. Oh well, to each their own, and I bet I'll be plenty excited as well, come Monday. And I hope it comes quickly.
Hmm, it's not that short after all. :'D. Anything noteworthy to add? Not really, but have this incredibly mind-numbing (if not brainwashing) video of the 8-bit version of the Song of Storms. (I promise, it is very awesome the first loop around!)

Oh what a glorious mess we made

Turns out I haven't had time yet to play OoT today. The moment I got home, my sister wheedled me into making cupcakes with her. I have to say, even though they look horribly unprofessional, they taste pretty good. :'DD.
Also, excuse the crappy quality of cell phone camera pictures. >,<. Can't be bothered to buy a better/newer/shinier cellphone, what with all the other expensive things I still need to buy. *coughnotebook3DSvideogameslotsandlotsofbookscough*
...Not to mention I'm turning 18 and am going to have to start paying for my own stuff. That is, more than I already do.
But it kind of sucks that I haven't even been able to move the Nintendo 64 downstairs yet, 'cause my mom'll be home in about half an hour. Basically, it's useless to move it now because I'll have to stop playing once I've figured out where I was at, again. ..I wonder whether my conscience will let me play tonight, when I've still got a lot of English homework to finish. On the one end I hope so, on the other not so much. Getting sick and tired of my own procrastination.~
Also, on an entirely different note, I'm pretty stoked that Final Fantasy XIII-2 is out. Initially I wasn't much for it, being really enthousiastic about Versus XIII and consequently annoyed that it was postponed, but I've seen the trailers and screenshots and just.. Damn. Not that I'll get around to buying it for a while, because in XIII I'm not even on Gran Pulse yet. It's pretty bad, considering I've had the game pretty much since its release, but I just haven't had a lot of time to play it. Actually it comes in handy, because it means that by the time I'm ready to buy XIII-2, it'll probably (hopefully) cost less. I love me my video games, but they sure cut into the funds. :/. Poor, poor wallet. Although, despite the pretty graphics, I don't think games today are necessarily better than they were ten years ago.
In fact, I actually had a pretty nostalgic conversation about old school games with a friend this afternoon. Just talking about how I used to play Super Mario 64 and Wave Race... Also Dino Crisis 2 on my cousin's PSone. Good times, good times. :'DD.
Hmm... Coming back to Ocarina of Time, I'm still agonizing over whether to buy OoT: 3D once I've got a 3DS. It's probably worth it, I guess, because it's all touched up and stuff. But on the other hand, I love the original version so much I'm not sure I need to.. Any opinions?

Bahahaha I fail'd
I was going so well too! I was trying to get into a sort of rhythm of posting something every day. But then the presentation happened. A lot of people died. It was messy.
But no, that's actually just a very thinly disguised Bad Excuse. Bet you couldn't tell. x'D.
In actual fact, the presentation did cause the lack of update, but rather inadvertently. As it happens, I was working late on remembering my parts on Tuesday, so I didn't gets me enough of the sleepies. Basically, as soon as I got home after the presentations on Wednesday, I went upstairs and passed out. It was probably good for me, but somehow I always feel cheated when I go to bed very early and get up at the regular time. Like I just threw away my free time. I dunno.

I am, however, very glad to be rid of the atrocity that is de biggest project we're having to do this year. Senior thesis/ Graduation Paper Completed! Objective: CLEARED.

Or the Castle of ZPTWSIATAABOOBTEMGAHATPITPOWSMTPLTOOTWWHCTTTFAKGA, for short. Hmmmm. I think I'll just stick with Ganny's Castle. :'D. But anyway, I'm planning to continue and hopefully beat the Spirit Temple, at least. I'm off from school really early, so I'll hopefully have plenty of teh timez.
